Lectus, in translation - chosen, is the name of the line of our top wines, on which our oenologists have worked diligently, in order to enable curious palates to taste and enjoy wines from several of our regions at very affordable prices. Brighter stars on the labels of all wines from the Lectus line represent the exact geographical location, origin of the wine and the vineyard location, where the wine comes from.

Lectus sparkling wine

Lectus sparkling wine is a premium sparkling wine with a slightly yellow color. It is decorated with elegant and fine acids of a fruity character and floral aromas. Long-lasting fine beading contributes to the youthful freshness and durability of the rich taste.

It was produced using the Charmat fermentation method in tanks, so it is a light sparkling wine. It is recommended to be served at a temperature of 6 to 8 degrees as an aperitif.

Sparkling wines have always been a status symbol of luxury and are an integral part of ceremonies and celebrations. There are many stories about how sparkling wine was created and why sparkling wine has such a status. The oldest recorded sparkling wine is Blanquette de Limoux, which was made by the Benedictines in Saint-Hilaire, near Carcassonne in France, back in 1531.

They got it by accident by bubbling the wine before the end of fermentation.

Be that as it may, the popularity of sparkling wine has only grown since then. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular in Croatia as well.  

Lectus Rose

Have you ever wondered how pink wines known as Rosé are made? The specific color is created by the contact of grape juice with the skin of black grapes. In this process, which is called maceration, winemakers can determine the intensity of the color, which is why the wines are of different shades.

Rosé wines can be classic or sparkling, with a wide range of sweetness. The primary flavors of Rosé are red fruit, flowers, citrus and melon. Of course, the taste will vary depending on the type of grape from which it is made, and it can be used from Cabernet Sauvignon to Syrah.

Our Rosé, obtained from the Frankovka and Pinot noir varieties, is characteristically light
pink color. The fragrance is dominated by notes of red fruit, especially strawberry.
A semi-sweet rosy wine with a rounded and full flavor, ideal for hanging out with friends.

Rosé Lectus captivates with its freshness and is increasingly popular, especially in the warm part of the year. When drunk chilled, it goes perfectly with light salads, pasta and grilled fish. Whether you're going to a picnic in the park or a barbecue  in the yard, our Rosé is the right choice.

Lectus Malvasia

Malvazija is a very old variety that  traces its roots back to the time of ancient Greece. It is not known whether it got its name from the Peloponnesian port of Monemvasia, which was in Venetian hands in the Middle Ages, or from Maleviza in Crete. In any case, Malvazija was one of the three most imported wines from Greece in the Middle Ages. It was so popular that Venetians even called wine shops Malvasia. Today, Malvazija is the common name for a large number of similar grape varieties that have been cultivated in the Mediterranean since ancient times, but also for the wines obtained from them.

Malvasias are divided according to color into white, pink and black, and according to taste into fresh, sweet, aromatic. colors. Malvasia Lectus is exactly that - a wine that refreshes with its smell and taste. In addition to the characteristic golden-yellow color, there is an intoxicating and recognizable smell, while the taste is dominated by ripe fruit aromas with seductive floral tones. The taste is memorable, delicate and impressive.  Fruity flavors with floral aromas are a perfect match for fish, chicken and pasta dishes.

Lectus Graševina

Graševina Lectus is distinguished by its warm yellow color. The aromas are reminiscent of the aromas of ripe apples and pears, spiced with hints of hay tones. The taste is pleasant and rich in lively acids that give this wine a harmonious aftertaste.

Our Iločka Graševina Lectus is made using a modern method, it is light, without acids and bitterness in the taste, extremely drinkable, powerful and slightly buttery, with a long-lasting taste. Graševina Lectus won the bronze Decanter medal award in 2019.

Graševina is arguably the most represented variety in Croatia. In continental Croatia, more than 50 percent of the total vineyard area is covered by Graševina. Its spread is primarily due to the fact that it is a grateful variety, native and regular. It adapts well to the continental climate.  Except here, it is grown in the Danube countries; Romania, Serbia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, and in Italy and Slovenia. In Croatia, three regions are leading in cultivation, Baranja and Ilok leaning on the Danube, and Kutjevo.

Lectus Cuvee

The well-known taste of Merlot fruit and the playfulness of Cabernet Sauvignon, in an ideal combination and ratio, give this exceptional wine an unforgettable experience. The dark red color with hints of purple, the smell and taste of forest fruits, the warmth and softness that nourish the palate, are characteristics that delight. Cuvee wines are made by carefully mixing various, in today's vocabulary, compatible varieties.  Merlot and cabernet combined into a perfect blend, because in combination they give an even better result: an intense, aromatic, playful cuvee wine, in which each variety gives its own touch and the best of itself.

Making Cuvée wine is the concept of making wine by special blending, i.e. these are wines made from a mixture of several grape varieties, not from a single variety. Cuvée is sometimes made to ensure the uniformity of the wine from year to year, and sometimes, as is the case with us, out of the desire to combine varieties and wines that are good and make an even better wine. Merlot, Cabernet and Teran combined into a perfect blend in combination give an even better result, an intense, aromatic, playful Cuvée wine, in which each variety gives its own flair.

Lectus Plavac

Plavac mali is the most popular black grape variety in Croatia. Special growing conditions are required for this variety: suitable slope, lots of sun, characteristic soil.  Plavac mali is a variety of southern vineyards and can most often be found in central and southern Dalmatia, in the area of Pelješac, in the southern Dalmatian islands, to Zadar. In addition to being able to produce strong and powerful wines, plavac mali can also produce fresh, young and drinkable wines.

Plavac Lectus is a light and refreshing wine originating from the Pelješac peninsula. Our Plavac is characterized by ruby red color. The aromas are reminiscent of sour cherries with slight earthy notes. Lively acids and mild astringency give this wine a full flavor. It is macerated in a vinifier under controlled conditions, after which it is transferred to a stainless steel tank for maturation. Plavac Lectus goes perfectly with blue fish, seafood risotto and cheeses.
